History of Excellence Since 1968
After WWII, Buford and Mary McDaniel married on May 28, 1946, near Louisville Kentucky. From 1946 through 1953, Buford traveled across many states looking for work. After hearing about job opportunities in Indiana at Bunker Hill Air Force Base, he moved his family north to Kokomo, Indiana, in 1954. From 1954 until 1968, he worked for Superior Plumbing and Heating (SPH) in Kokomo. Upon the dissolvement of SPH, Buford and his son Jerry decided to start their own business. In September of 1968, Buford, with $5,000, started Quality Plumbing & Heating (QPH) at 101 East Broadway, Bunker Hill, Indiana.
From 1968 until 1987, as Buford’s four children became older, each of them became a part of the QPH team. Jerry McDaniel, Brenda Carson, Robert McDaniel, and Allen McDaniel expanded the company’s operations. In 1984, they took over the Bunker Hill Hardware. School, home, and public works heating and plumbing projects were the principal types of work. In 1987, at age 62, Buford retired and handed the reigns to the second generation.
From 1987 till 2017, QPH continued to grow and expand. In 1996, QPH consolidated the warehouse, office, and hardware store into one location at 120 East McKinley Street, Bunker Hill, IN. In 2000, QPH opens a branch in Greensburg, IN to concentrate on industrial installation and commercial service. In 2012, QPH partnered with UA Local 440 to start a residential department. The residential service division brought state-of-the-art indoor air quality and energy efficient equipment installations to local homeowners. The following year in 2013, the growing service department split off into a Kokomo Office at 1499 South Dixon Road, Kokomo, IN.
On January 1, 2018, the third generation completed the ownership buyout. Joe Rosinski and Jesse Carson continue the 50 year legacy started by Buford and Mary. 2019 QPH’s northern operations consolidated the Dixon and Bunker Hill offices to 3515 North Reed Road, Kokomo, IN, 46901. The new state-of-the-art facility houses office staff, service dispatch, training rooms, and a fabrication shop. Our customer base now includes all of Indiana, serving commercial, industrial, and residential plumbing, heating, and air conditioning customers. Our projects range from residential water heaters to the construction of Indiana’s largest buildings. Quality Plumbing & Heating’s number one priority is to “Get and Keep Customers.” We strive to continue evolving to the latest industry methods, always incorporating the latest in materials, training, and technology.
